At RCN we make a wide range of polyester fiber laminates for numerous needs. The laminates consist of an outer layer with gelcoat, which gives the product an excellent aesthetic appearance and excellent UV resistance, and a second layer containing glass fiber reinforcement.

The surfaces of plastic laminate, both external and internal, can have different finishes depending on the type of use of the product. All polyester fiber laminates can be produced in different RAL colors and also in custom tints.

The benefits and uses of laminates

Polyester fiber laminates are used to make many different items. Polyester fiber is mainly used for the production of composite materials, especially reinforced plastic polymers.

The characteristics of polyester fiber are, in addition to excellent toughness and resilience, high abrasion and impact resistance, high modulus of elasticity and minimal moisture pickup as well as good resistance to chemical and physical agents.

Due to these characteristics, it is common norm to use this type of fiber as a substitute for fiberglass, especially in those cases where good impact resistance is needed, which does not, however, justify the choice of aramid fibers, which are of higher cost. Impregnable with all resins on the market, with epoxy there is also texture retention, which remains unchanged.
